San Francisco: Future Sea Level
This is really interesting. There was a collabrative art project going on called Future Sea Level which shows the impact global warming will have on our city. An artist-designed blue tape which is suppose to illustrate "water" had been placed around our famous tourist spot "Fisherman's Wharf". This water had been placed at a level that shows how high our sea level could rise if we don't begin to address the global warming issue. Some spectators found they had to jump up in order to reach the "tape"!
This art installation was a joint effort with the Sierra Club and SF Environment. I'm so sorry I missed it, but I just heard back from their press dept. there might be another one around town soon!

Without wishing to be too unkind, Fisherman's Wharf is not exactly 'loved'. Although it is reachable and popular. Which is why I guess the artist chose it.
How about repeating it on the reclaimed land and waterside communities in the Bay Area? That could drop property prices somewhat.
Rising sea levels, air pollution, waste problems....
