REVIEW: Happy bum, happy planet

You want effective wipes that, ahem, do the job literally at hand but they also need to be good for your baby and for the planet. Bad wipes lead to unhappy babies and unhappy babies, you guessed it, lead to unhappy parents. To be honest, wipes are everything!
We have tried a few different alternative wipes (more on those later I am sure) but these Herbal Wipes from Jackson Reece are a great choice. They contain aloe vera and tea tree and have been created to offer parents an alcohol free option. Smelling of lavender and lemon you not only get a pleasant olfactory experience, you also get more for your money with more wipes in a packet than in most other brands.

It's a shame that these and their packaging isn't biodegradable or recyclable (not in this country anyway), the plastic snap-shut thing particularly puts me off, just more waste going into landfill.
What's your opinion on Nature Baby wipes that come in natural packaging (chalk based) and are biodegradable?
When my son was in cloth diapers, I used to reuse his baby wipes (not the really icky ones, but wipes for wet diapers and such) by washing them in the laundry, and then using them for diaper liners.

You are right Tracy of course and I need to do my review of Nature wipes as they are superb...when we can get them, they run out so fast at our local shop.
And Renee, very resourceful, we have been moving back to reusables now and I will give that a go...what a good idea.

Although I don't have any babies to wipe LOL...I did have occasion to buy wipes for a foot care course I recently took. Yikes, the junk they put in the regular brands and that was all that was available on short notice and locally. I agree with Tracy, still too much junk packaging on all these products, bad enough what's inside.

A word of advice for anyone, especially those who use real nappies for the youngsters, therefore flush liners etc down the toilet, a large proportion of wipes (including these ones) aren't flushable as they do not decompose appropriately.
I've found that there are only 2 makes I can get relatively easily - Bambino Mio (if they're too old they seem to start disintegrating in the pack!) and Perfectly Happy People. Neither are brilliant, but at least they are flushable so aren't going to landfill, and I know they do decompose fairly quickly.
